In June 2016 the UK voted, by a not unsubstantial margin, against remaining in the EU. Since then, not much information has transcended in terms of what the plans for withdrawal might be. As a consequence, an increasing climate of uncertainty can be felt that only fuels the sense of fear of the unknown within British and European societies.
This sense is just as acute within the artistic community as both artists and arts organisations have many questions with regards to what a future outside the EU might have in store for them. Particularly, given the fact that over the past two decades the links between artists and art organisations all throughout Europe have grown ever closer both in terms of collaboration and resources.
A panel consisting of artists, arts organisations, funders and European representatives will tackle the very tough question of how to address this climate of uncertainty while trying to offer pointers for a way forward.
Event supported by the European Commission Representation in the UK
