TRANSLATION SLAM – CITIES WE LOST, CITIES WE FOUND
Join us for a bilingual reading and a discussion around poetry and translation on Saturday 2nd October at 12pm at SEE studios (13 Prince Edward Rd, London, E9 5LX).
For writers, space is not only what surrounds them, but also filters into an internal construct. A group of Spanish poets living in the UK will read texts in Spanish on the cities they have lost and the city they have found, while two British translators will each write their own interpretations to ferry the texts into English. How many lives can a text have? One text, two translators, endless possibilities!
